Dr. Miriam J.S. Leis, Ph.D. is a strategic foresight researcher from Germany specializing in the interrelation of emerging technologies, society, politics, and future studies. She has been involved in many foresight projects for business, policy makers, and the European Commission especially focusing on topics related to education, health, innovation policy, and emerging technologies. She has worked for nearly one year for an Indian company in Mumbai.

Dr. Avinash K Singh, Ph.D. (Founder and Core member) Avinash is a researcher at the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute and working toward various topics in Cybernetics such as Brain-Computer Interface, Cognitive Neuroscience, Machine Learning. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Technology Sydney in 2019 and M.S. in 2013 from Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Rajasthan, India.

He has been active in advocating and promoting future technologies like Neuroadaptive technologies to augment and enhance humans since 2013. As a result, he has founded this non-profit organization called India Future Society, co-organizing Transhuman Sydney meetup (900+ members), speaker at Transhumanist Australia, board member of a Think-tank in France, and advisor for two companies in Australia. Besides, he is also serving on two IEEE Standard committees for better and safe Neurotechnologies of the future.

The current interests of his research are to integrate the artificial intelligence (Al) technologies with cognitive neuroscience knowledge for exploring the cognitive functions, discovering the relationships between brain dynamics, evaluated everyday interaction, decision making, developing a robust brain-computer interface, and more importantly, getting closer to achieve mind uploading.

Siddartha Verma is a MS student at School of Physics, The University of Western Australia (2011-2013) and has completed his Bachelors in Technology degree in Instrumentation from CUSAT, India (2006-2010). He has been a Visiting Researcher at Stanford in Gravity Probe-B experiment for three months in 2010.

Apart from that, he has summer project experience from places like Indian Institute of Astrophysics (2008), UWA (2010) and has also been a Winter School Student for an Astroparticle course conducted by TIFR and Bose Institute (2010). In summer 2009 he was selected as a Vacation Student’s Programme student in IUCAA, Pune.

Ilia Stambler

Ilia Stambler is a researcher at the Department of Science, Technology and Society of Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He worked as a scientific writer at the Biophysical Schottenstein Center for the Research and Technology of the Cellome, Bar-Ilan University. He studied biomedical engineering in Moscow Polytechnical Institute, biology at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and has an MA in English literature from Bar-Ilan University. Ilia received his PhD degree at the Department of Science, Technology and Society, at Bar-Ilan University. His thesis subject, and his main interest, is the History of Life-extensionism in the 20th Century.

He is a longevity activist and coordinator at the International Longevity Alliance

Jameson N. Rohrer (MLIS & B.S. in History) is a graduate student at San Jose State University, a transhumanist, technologist, and lonegevity enthusiast from the United States, who specializes in assimilating information about the coming singularity, emerging technologies, the role of libraries in the development of information infrastructure, societal progress, and ethical problems of integrating technologies into the human body. He has been involved with various transhumanist groups, and will becoming a permanent member of Humanity+ and also Alcor Life Extension Foundation in 2014.  He also intends to attend the Singularity University in 2015.  He was over nine years of experience in in libraries, information environments,  and providing the means for anyone to seek out the reading material relating to the subjects encapsulated by transhumanism.  Currently working for the Evansville Vanderburgh Central Library. B.J. Murphy is a socialist and Transhumanist activist within the East Coast region of the U.S. He writes for both Transhumanity.net and the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies (IEET), and is currently a co-editor for the online newspaper Fight Back! News. He’s worked with the asteroid mining company Planetary Resources as a member of their Planetary Community Vanguards, helping campaign funding for open-source space exploration via the ARKYD-100 Space Telescope.

He runs a web blog, going into science, technology, and transhumanism, called The Proactionary Transhumanist.

Clyde DeSouza is an Author and Creative Technology Evangelist. He explores technologies such as Augmented Reality, Real-time Game engines and Stereoscopic 3D and their influence on human perception.
Raised in different parts of the world, he is at ease in multicultural environments and loves interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, believing that holding on to tradition is over-rated, and a border-less, technology driven world is the future.
His book Think in 3D, has been peer recommended as essential reading for Directors. Clyde’s coining of new terminology in 3D has made it’s way into the 3D Encyclopedic Dictionary.

His “Think in 3D” masterclasses are an on-going success in Asia and Europe. Recent projects include the setup of Advanced Media and Technology Labs for Government and Educational Media institutions to foster collaboration, and sustain employee motivation. His second book: “Memories With Maya” is a fiction novel in the hard science/tech-noir genre. The story explores the impact Augmented Intelligence will have in human personal relationships and in society. His aim in writing the book is to bring the ethos of Transhumanism via story.

Attended Nottingham University and later what is now Westminster University, and has a BSc in Physics. Subsequently pursued a career in electronics and computer research and is the technical director of Logical Automation Ltd, a company specializing in high end audio visual technology.

A founder member of Zero State (ZS) with a seat on the coordinating body (Sansad) and a member of the Futurists Board of the Lifeboat Foundation.

Founder of The Consensus in 2002CE, a political party with a core philosophy of Transhumanism, which has been revised and relaunched under Zero State. Now currently deputy leader. Other interests include the interface between technology and theology explored in the books TechnoMage and The Praxis, and was co-presenter of a UK radio show, OneTribe. Head of The Praxis, a ZS spiritual organization.

For several years held the position of Branch Master in the World Shorinji Kempo Organization, teaching Zen and martial arts, although is now retired from a teaching role.

Franco Cortese is a Canadian Futurist, Author, Editor, Essayist, Poet and Speaker.

Franco regularly writes for the Institute for Ethics & Emerging Technologies. He has a column in H+ Magazine, and also writes for Transhumanity, Immortal Life Magazine and The Rational Argumentator. He is also a staff editor for Transhumanity, and is on the coordinating committee for Zero State. He contributed material to the edited collection Human Destiny is to Eliminate Death: Essays, Rants and Arguments About Immortalism.

Franco is also an Advisor for Lifeboat Foundation, a US organization working to mitigate sources of Existential Risk and Global Catastrophic Risk. Franco occupies positions on their Futurists Board and one of their Scientific Advisory Boards (Life Extension Board). He has also written reports for Lifeboat Foundation, and is one of the top 10 contributors to the LF blog.

Christine Gaspar is a registered Nurse, with a background in emergency medicine and trauma. She is  currently the President of the Cryonics Society of Canada, where she help advocate for Canadian cryonicists. She has appeared in print and radio interviews, both locally and internationally, speaking about cryonics.  She has strong interest in developing support networks for cryonics organizations and helping to strengthen current standby services. She write about topics related to cryonics and transhumanism and am hoping to continue to do so in a regular manner, providing a female perspective.  She has a page on Facebook where she has started collecting ideas and writing on these subjects called Transhuman Initiative.

Harish Shah is Singapore’s pioneering local born Commercial Futurist and Sole-Proprietor of a Futurist Management Consulting practice, Stratserv Consultancy. Harish developed a passion for studying, understanding, appreciating and embracing the future while he was an undergraduate at The University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Triple Majors in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and Management along with Marketing electives. After graduating from UWA with a distinction average in each of his three majors, Harish returned to his native Singapore, where his formal education stopped, but his passion for the study of the future continued to grow.

Thomas Damberger, Ph.D., is postdoctoral research associate at the Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany). He studied pedagogy and philosophy and completed his doctorate with a critical work about pedagogical and technological improvement of humans. Md. Monirul Islam is working as an Assistant Professor of English, Asannagr M. M. T. College, West Bengal and is a research fellow in the University of Kalyani, Department of English. His primary interest is in the area of postcolonial theories. He has published on East-West encounter and its literary representations.
